What We Are Doing

What We Are Doing In South Shields

Hello and welcome to the Combined Touch blog. We hope you enjoy the articles and please feel free to share them on social media!

We are not medical experts in the field of dementia but, from our experience of the illness, this blog is written from the perspective of how a person living with dementia sees the world. As anybody who has come into contact with the illness will know, it affects memory and seems to make people move in and out of the past and present.

Our service users are helped and encouraged to live full, interesting and independent lives. In all cases, an initial meeting and assessment will take place with the potential service user and their main carer. A care plan will be agreed and this will develop as we get to know the service user.

We value each service user as an individual and try to keep rules and regulations to a minimum. We have commitment to our staff and volunteers, and to their training and development. This provides a stable and professional team dedicated to our principle of person-centred care.
